Romania News Sept 2019

September 2019
 Ministry updates from Romania:

"The entrance of your words gives light; gives understanding to the simple."Ps.119,130
Once again I give the glory to the Lord for our new instrument of work, the devotional for the prisoners. It is a great blessing to proclaim the Gospel in this way too. They can have daily bread for the soul, specially written for them. Over 700 are already brought to the volunteers and we already distribute to every inmate we work with. In a year we estimate to reach out and give over 2000 inmates a book.
The activity by correspondence goes well. Angel Dragu writes among other information about his work: “Four days a week I volunteer at the Bible school in Brasov through correspondence and students and even inmates from all over the country are helped to know Jesus as Savior and then grow as His disciples, receiving a series of 7 courses and also your daily readings. In the last period I had a good collaboration with some prison ministry volunteers, one of them is sister Irma Mărășescu (Christian Police Association).” Pastor Angel Dragu also wrote about his social ministry for the needy people. He also sent relevant pictures that I attached.
After a short rest, I restarted my activity at Mioveni and MCiuc Prisons. I was informed also that everywhere our volunteers have new groups. Brother Baboi reports 75 inmates registered for his program.

In September, I also managed to reach the Hutu and Onu family in Moldova (northeast region of the country). We had some blessed meetings. Brother Hutu is preparing for an evangelization with special guests. Brother Onu works with a larger team and enjoys good results among the inmates.

We are glad that your banquet was a successful. We followed your news on Facebook and we were glad that the Lord has blessed you with a full audience and a very well-known guest in the evangelical world. We were and we are with you in prayer. Thank you for your prayer and support. God bless you!

With love in Christ,

October 2019

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." Ps 100,4 Every time I cross the mountains to Mioveni I think about God`s love and I give Him glory for all the blessings I have received. I am full of thanks for having Good news to the inmates.
It is a great joy to talk to people who start to put their trust in the Lord and realize that they still have a new chance in life. These days Nick Voijcic visited the Christian communities in Romania. Often I use short videos of this person with no limbs and yet gives hope into God to those who have everything, but they felt into the trap of the devil.
Recently you celebrated Thanksgiving, we wish you a blessing. I had a year full of material and spiritual fruits. Thank you very much for your faith in helping us to fulfill the Great Commission and being able to bring the Gospel to those behind the bars. We thank the Lord and the fact that Fedi Davidovics is doing well. We still pray for him. We also follow your ministry on facebook and everything you write about your work on the website of the organization. We are glad that many take the Bible course by correspondence.

It is a great effort to read and answer so many letters. God bless you! Since our dear brother Angel Dragu starts a similar mission, now we realize what this work consists of.
All the volunteers I was talking to recently greets you and wish the Lord's grace.
Our new volunteer Angel Dragu wrote in more detail. He is very happy to work with us. Among other things he notified:
“I thank God for His love, and pray for you to increase more and more in the knowledge of God! Col.1,10  It was a great blessing to send those behind the bars wall calendars besides the bible lessons!
We celebrated in the Church Thanksgiving Day.
May the Lord be praised forever!
With love and thanks, Angel Dragu from Prejmer Baptist Church.”

Brother Baboi serves more than 65 inmates.

Romania News January 2020

 January 2020

"So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands." Isa 55,11
It is a great joy when I receive good news from the volunteers. Here are two people that Andras Attila met in a church. While they were still in prison, they heard the Gospel from Doczy and Attila. Now they are changed people, good Christians. Truly the Word of God has power. This kind of encouragement always comes at the right time. The work of the volunteers is not in vain. We hope that there are many others like these, of whom lives God has truly worked.
Brother Baboi also sent statistical news and a picture of a Bible study meeting.

Viorel Sintoiu wrote:
“The group of young people from Codlea sang and pastor Miklos from the Hungarian Baptist Church of Covasna preached the Gospel. Each inmate received a package of sweets, a calendar for the year 2020, some other Christian brochures and books. At the and I invited everybody to open their hearts to the Lord Jesus. This was received with favorable response, glory to the Lord! I kept in my mind the words of one of them: "Thank you very much for thinking about us". We have a new group of 15 detainees now. One of them is about to finish his 25 years sentence. I met him first 10 years ago. He said: ”I am happy to see you again, I attended your meetings 10 years ago, during that time I was transferred to several prisons, and now I have returned to Codlea. ” May God bless him! Thank you for your prayers and support!
Dragu Angel, is happy to receive many completed bible studies from inmates, picking up some of them from his PO Box on the picture. He wrote:
“I am glad that I can serve the Lord between the inmates by correspondence mission. This month I had the opportunity to meet some inmates in the MCiuc Prison and I could preach the Gospel there. The words are true from the Proverbs 3.9-10 “Honor the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thy increase. So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Please pray for him, besides his pastoral work he has to nurse his father who struggles with Alzheimer's disease. We all greet you and wish good health and all the blessing!
With love in Christ,

Romania News Dec 2019

December 2019 news letter from Romania:
Happy New Year 2020 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1Thes.5,23 Thank you for the kind support, and daily prayers! Praise God for your commitment.
At the end of the year we make an account of what we have achieved through the grace of the Lord in 2019. We praise God for every discussion I have had with the prisoners, that convinced me the Spirit of the Lord works in their hearts through the Word of the Lord. We praise God for every weekly meeting through which we could proclaim the gospel. We praise God for the team of volunteers who are full of devotion and zealously see God’s will in ministry. May the Lord give health and joy to all the directors, influential people who have made it possible to fulfill the Great Commandment in this field of mission.
I also give the Lord's glory for the Christmas packages through which we could bring little hope to those who are no longer connected with their families. Here are some pictures from the ministry, some individual news and greetings.

Viorel wrote:
“This year by the grace of God I completed 12 years of work in the prison ministry. On 11th November, we had a special day of joy for the inmates who completed the course "The path to a happy life". Some young people came also from Codlea helping our event with songs. The Gospel was transmitted by pastor Ronaldo (a missionary from Brazil). The emotions were great for the 14 prisoners who came in front of the hall and sang together "Change my heart!". Each inmate received a parcel. The group that finished the course received a diploma, I offered also 6 Bibles. At the end of the program, I briefly shared my testimony, and then I encouraged them to open their hearts to the Lord Jesus. We prayed together with those who received the Lord Jesus in their hearts. And this time I saw tears of joy on their faces. A. is one of those, he attended all the lessons, learned to pray, I saw his sincere face, he asked me for a Bible . With the help of the Lord, this month, on 16th December, we will organize a Christmas event for the prisoners, I hope to meet 40 inmates. Greetings to all of you, Blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!”

Angel:
God bless you! Inmates throughout the country's prisons receive a Bibles, Christmas greeting cards. The correspondence mission is a blessing for them. I wish you good health, thank you very much for your support and I wish you a happy Christmas with peace and joy with your loved ones! Happy New Year! With love and appreciation, Angel Dragu from Prejmer

Another Tuesday

We had a fair amount of mail and a fair amount of volunteers to get all that mail processed at the Berean office this morning. We were blessed with 3 readers to take care of the letters that came in today.
Shirley, Ray, Vonnie and Shirley opened the studies, while mom applied labels.
As soon as all the studies were opened the next job was to stuff envelopes and get the Bibles ready for mailing.
Below mom and Shirley are visiting while waiting for more work.
We had all the work done by noon and were able to enjoy our lunch. It is amazing to think another Tuesday is come and gone. We sure do enjoy volunteering here.

Double

Last week at the Berean office we didn't get much mail. Well today made up for that and we had double the amount today. Thankfully we had amazing volunteers that came in to process the mail. We were short of readers today so both of the Shirley's had to work together to get that job done.  One of the very first letters was read by the Shirley sitting behind Shirley and she just had to read it aloud. The letter was brief. The person wrote:  Hi I'm John, "do you remember me?" "I use to do this study and would like to do it again." it was signed John...No last name, no number and no address.
The number of Johns that do this study has to be in the thousands. That gave us a good laugh.  Joyce Ray, Chuck, Glenna, Vonnie and mom all went right to work on processing the studies.
Bill came in to help. It is hard to get a good picture of him, he is always moving.
Robin also came in today. She got busy with the copier and got hundreds of studies made. We were starting to run out but she arrived just in time to fill them.
We had 230 studies go out today and also sent out Bibles but I don't know the count on those as I was working on the certificates when they got those finished. Today was another good day, everyone left feeling we got a lot accomplished.

Another Easy Day

We didn't get a lot of mail this week at the Berean office and were able to finish will before lunch. We are not sure if the mail is not getting through or the prisoners are just taking extra time doing their Bible studies.  This gave us time to catch up on some of the other work that needed to be done.

It truly is a joy to be at the Berean office on Tuesday's mornings. This group of volunteers are the best!
